The AXIS XC1311 Network Horn Speaker is an explosion-protected IP audio solution designed to deliver clear and understandable voice messages in hazardous industrial environments. Certified for Zone 1 / Division 1 hazardous areas, it provides scheduled announcements, event-triggered messages and live voice communication to help keep personnel informed when it matters most.
This all-in-one network horn speaker combines powerful audio, IP connectivity and hazardous-area protection in a standalone device. It connects directly to a standard IP network and uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) for both power and data, simplifying installation while reducing the need for additional cabling and hardware.

Designed for industrial sites where reliable communication is critical, the speaker delivers clear voice announcements over long distances and in environments with high background noise.
It can broadcast scheduled messages, automatically play prerecorded announcements when an event occurs, or allow operators to communicate live with personnel. For example, an Axis network camera equipped with analytics could detect smoke, missing personal protective equipment or another predefined event and trigger an appropriate audio message.
Built-in digital signal processing helps optimise voice clarity so instructions, warnings and operational announcements can be understood by personnel throughout the coverage area.
Smart Network Audio Integration
The AXIS XC1311 Network Horn Speaker connects directly to standard IP infrastructure, providing a flexible and scalable alternative to conventional analogue public address systems.
As a standalone network audio device, it does not require a separate amplifier or dedicated audio server. Its integration with the Axis ecosystem allows it to work alongside network cameras, analytics and other security or operational systems.
The Axis open platform also enables integration with compatible third-party systems, solutions and management platforms.
AXIS Audio Manager Edge comes preinstalled, providing tools for managing audio directly over the network. Administrators can configure zones, schedule content, prioritise announcements and manage user permissions remotely.
Built-in remote health monitoring also allows administrators to verify that the speaker is operating correctly without needing to physically visit the installation site.
Designed for Hazardous Areas
The XC1311 is certified for installation in potentially combustible environments, including Class I Division 1, Class I Zone 1 IIC, Zone 1 IIC and Zone 21 IIIC applications.
It is designed to withstand demanding operating conditions and temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C, making it suitable for industrial environments where conventional network speakers cannot be installed.
Applications can include manufacturing facilities, processing plants, energy infrastructure and other hazardous locations where clear network-based audio communication is required.
Simple PoE Installation
Power over Ethernet allows both power and network connectivity to be delivered through a single cable from a compatible network switch. This helps simplify installation and eliminates the need for separate local power cabling.
The supplied mounting bracket supports both wall and ceiling installation, giving installers flexibility when positioning the speaker for effective audio coverage.
