The CyberData 011487 Wall Mount Speaker is an economical PoE and VoIP public address endpoint designed for network-based paging and notification systems. Using IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet, the speaker connects to a compatible network through a single Ethernet cable for both power and data, helping simplify installation.
It can receive audio from standard multicast sources such as automated bell schedulers, paging controllers, compatible IP phones and other network audio devices, making it suitable for schools, offices, warehouses, retail facilities and commercial environments.
Multicast IP Paging
The speaker receives standard multicast audio streams and supports up to 10 multicast paging groups with configurable audio priorities.
Priority handling allows important announcements to take precedence over lower-priority audio streams when multiple sources are active.
Applications can include:
- General paging
- Scheduled school bells
- Staff announcements
- Emergency notifications
- Shift and break signals
- Retail announcements
- Warehouse paging
- Automated messages
The device can also receive multicast pages directly from compatible Poly phones and other devices capable of transmitting standard multicast audio.
CyberData 011487 Wall Mount Speaker Multicast Paging
Buffered multicast support allows the device to receive delayed pages where compatible paging infrastructure is used.
This can help maintain more complete announcements in situations where buffering is required before audio playback begins.
The speaker can also integrate with automated multicast sources such as bell scheduling systems, allowing scheduled tones and messages to be distributed without requiring a traditional analogue PA amplifier.
Power over Ethernet
Support for IEEE 802.3af PoE allows network data and electrical power to share the same Ethernet connection.
This reduces cabling requirements and removes the need for a separate local power supply at the speaker location, particularly useful for wall-mounted installations across larger facilities.
Network-Adjustable Volume
Speaker volume can be adjusted through the network rather than requiring physical access to the unit.
This allows administrators to set an appropriate audio level for different areas while simplifying commissioning and ongoing system management.
A high-efficiency speaker driver provides audio output from the compact enclosure.
VLAN and Network Integration
Support for IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging allows the speaker to operate within appropriately configured segmented networks.
This can be useful where voice, paging and general data traffic are separated into different VLANs as part of an organisation’s network design.
Secure Configuration
TLS security is supported for compatible autoprovisioning and web-based configuration functions.
Administrators can manage the speaker through its network interface and update firmware either through the web interface or through supported autoprovisioning processes.
Device Health Monitoring
Configurable event generation allows the speaker to report device health and status information to compatible monitoring systems.
This can help administrators identify endpoint conditions across larger deployments without having to physically inspect each speaker.
Compact Wall-Mounted Design
The streamlined enclosure and included mounting hardware simplify installation in a variety of indoor locations.
Its compact footprint makes it suitable for areas where a conventional large PA speaker may be unnecessary or difficult to accommodate.
